Casablanca is worth visiting for its mix of Atlantic coastline, Moroccan heritage, Art Deco architecture, and modern city life. If you have one day, I’d prioritize these:

Top places to see in Casablanca

  1. Hassan II Mosque
The absolute must-see. Its spectacular location directly on the Atlantic and its Moroccan craftsmanship make it Casablanca’s iconic landmark. The mosque is one of the city’s signature attractions.
  2. United Nations Square & Mohammed V Square
Great starting points for exploring central Casablanca and its distinctive Art Deco and neo-Moorish architecture.
  3. Bab Marrakech & the Old Medina
Wander through the narrow streets of the Old Medina, browse small shops, and experience a more traditional side of Casablanca. The Old Medina is one of the city’s key attractions.
  4. Habous Quarter (New Medina)
One of my recommendations for experiencing Moroccan architecture, local shops, pastries, handicrafts, and traditional atmosphere. Its arcades, small squares and decorative details combine traditional Moroccan style with 20th-century urban planning.
  5. Mahkama of Pacha
A beautiful example of Moroccan craftsmanship, featuring zellige, carved plaster, cedar wood, marble and traditional architectural details.
  6. Corniche & Ain Diab
Head toward the Atlantic for a relaxing walk, cafés, restaurants, beaches and sunset views. The Corniche stretches along the coast and is one of Casablanca’s main leisure areas.
  7. El Hank Lighthouse
A nice addition to a Corniche itinerary, particularly if you enjoy coastal scenery and photography.
  8. Arab League Park
A pleasant green space in the city center, ideal for taking a break while sightseeing.
  9. Abderrahman Slaoui Foundation Museum
A good choice if you’re interested in Moroccan art, decorative arts and collecting.

If you only have ONE DAY

I’d suggest this route:

Morning: Hassan II Mosque → Corniche → Ain Diab
Lunch: Seafood or Moroccan cuisine near the coast
Afternoon: Old Medina → United Nations Square → Mohammed V Square → Art Deco center
Late afternoon: Habous Quarter → Mahkama of Pacha
Evening: Return to the Corniche for sunset and dinner.

Casablanca is different from Marrakech or Fes: its appeal is the combination of modern Morocco, Atlantic scenery, Art Deco architecture and traditional neighborhoods. The Moroccan National Tourist Office itself highlights the Hassan II Mosque, Morocco Mall, Ain Diab Corniche, Old Medina and Habous among the city’s most popular attractions.
